Service Description

Master the art of classifying parts, accessories and parts of general use under the Harmonized Schedule (HS). Classifying under Harmonized System (HS) requires a detailed analysis of how to classify these products including when these parts/accessories are excluded from many chapters in the Harmonized Schedule. Emphasis will be on exclusions under the Harmonized Schedule chapters 82. 84-96. You will learn: • How to define a part, an accessory and a part of general use. • When you can classify a part or accessory with a machine and when it is excluded • Strong review of parts and accessories that cannot be classified under machinery, aerospace or automotive classification codes. • How to build a worksheet for identifying and properly classifying parts and accessories and parts of general use • Course exercises to reinforce learnings Who should attend? Import and Export personnel, logistics, engineers or product development teams, internal auditors, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.

Cancellation Policy

If you have registered for one of SNCG’s Academy of Global Trade trainings, classes and/or certifications but are unable to attend, please see the below policies regarding cancellations, transferring a registration to a future session, and substitutions. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations are accepted in writing via email (to or by telephone. An email confirming the cancellation will be sent by SNCG. For a full refund, written cancellations must be received 15 business days prior to the start date of the training. Cancellations received under 15 business days of the course start date are not entitled to a refund, though the participant may transfer to a future course, or allow a colleague to attend in their place. Transfer Policy: If you cannot attend a scheduled course, Participants may transfer a registration to another SNCG training. Transfers are accepted in writing via email ( An email confirming the transfer will be sent by SNCG. Transferred credit for future training is valid for 12 months from the time of the original training. Transfers can be made up to 10 business days prior to the original training’s start date. Course Cancellations: If the course, class, training or session is canceled by SN-CG, a full refund or transfer to another course will be provided. Substitution Policy: Substitutions are accepted in writing email ( by providing the name of the current registrant and the name of the substitute.
